Breakfast in Stumptown, improved and updated
October 31st, 2007 by veronica
I’ve updated the map a bit and made a few changes, not the least of which is finally figuring out how to embed the map in HTML — so now you can view your breakfast options from within the safe confines of NerdsOnFilm instead of being cast into the wilds of Google’s interface. Thank goodness!
Feel free to submit further suggestions/changes/additions/corrections, etc. But do keep in mind my ground rules:
- no chains
- restaurant must be in Portland city limits
- must serve hot breakfast (i.e., muffins and bagels don’t count)
- should offer table service (I’ve made a few exceptions for places with counter service just ’cause I like ‘em — hey, it’s my map!)
Without any further ado, here it is… click on that little yellow square in the upper right hand corner to see a full-screen version.
Shout out to My Maps Plus for the embedding assistance.

Just so you know, Daily Grill is a chain. They are in San Francisco, Washington DC, Chicago and some other cities.

I’m sure glad to see you included Helser’s. We don’t go out to breakfast very often, but when we do it’s usually Helser’s. Scrumptious!
What a map! Great work! But I’d also include Di Prima Dolce. We’ve been there once for breakfast and it was really good.
I found your blog, by the way, because my husband is the priest at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral and we were checking out what people were saying about the festival. Thanks for your good words!

This is just about the coolest thing ever.
Was the weekend breakfast at Sub Rosa typical breakfast fare? We haven’t tried there yet for breakfast but we’ve been meaning to…the potatoes sure look good!

thanks, all, for the compliments!
Elizabeth, I’m a big fan of Helser’s, too, and I’ve been meaning to check out DiPrima Dolci — thanks for the tip. And as you already know I *LOVED* the Greek Festival. You have a beautiful church and community.
Michelle, breakfast at SubRosa is pretty standard stuff, benedicts, frittatas and the like. You can read my review of our one visit there here.
Happy breakfasting, y’all!
